🎯 THE ROUGH AND RUGGED STATIONS

📖BIBLE TEXT: ISAIAH 40:1-3
🔎📖 Isaiah 40:3 “ Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.”

The children of Israel had been in Babylon for seventy rough and rugged years, experiencing family disintegration, economic hardship, spiritual deprivation, social exclusion, cultural violations and all round frustrations. Even as they faced the future, the memories of these years could not be wished or washed away. But God said, these rough experiences would be made level and plain. Would these be erased from their minds? No! But their minds would be graciously healed, so they could soar like eagles.

👉🏽 ROUGH AND RUGGED PAST
Genesis 47:8 “Pharaoh asked him, "How old are you?" And Jacob said to Pharaoh, "The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult.”

When Pharoah asked Jacob his age, he summed them as being few but full of troubles. These did not change the fact that God had visited him at Bethel, given him the Peniel experience and brought him into a new season in Egypt. Have you had rough and rugged experiences? Do you sometimes wonder why it seems your case is different? Cheer up! For many are the afflictions of the righteous, and even the only son of God went through these too. Allow God’s grace and mercies to heal you. But this will not happen until you surrender those experiences to God. Don’t join the crowd that see no possibility of any new thing happening to them. God is about to change your testimony and you shall soar like the why the eagle.

👉🏽 COME AND REST
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

No matter our quick-fix efforts, there is no rest for our souls until we find rest in God. We can only find white-washed tombs of tribulation here. Only God can take us and turn us from a mess to a message and our tests to testimonies. But He says come, all who labour! Are you laboring? Do you bear burdens that ordinary eyes cannot see? Are you losing your strength? Come to Him who can turn and smoothen the rugged and rough places of your past life, so you can soar like the eagle again.

PRAYER 🙏🏾
Almighty Father, I come to You for the rest that only You can give. I ask for strength to see beyond my troubles and to be assured of your faithfulness now and always through Jesus Christ. Amen!
