Oftentimes, we have noticed in our youths and even elders do not care who watches or observes them. Elder siblings and parents these days just seem to do things without the care that the younger ones are looking at them, following their every move. The move they make are not of good value. Most times, they don't make sense. I'm talking about youths going into fraudulent activities, parents losing love, care and discipline for their children and elders doing the opposite of their age, showing lack of the wisdom, knowledge and lessons they once possessed. And when you try to talk them out of it, enlighten their minds and clear their perspectives, they come up and say one of the most bizzare statements I still find to be rather senseless to this day:

“IT’S MY LIFE AND I WILL LIVE IT THE WAY I WANT.”

PARENTS, BROTHERS, SISTERS and ELDERS. No, it is not your life. Not in the way you put it.

You see, your life is intertwined with so many others. Those “others” are people whose breakthrough and success will only happen if you succeed in your life. Imagine this: You are supposed to be CEO and founder of a multi billionaire company. Of course, that company will need employees (staff). Hiring them means bringing many people into full time employment and monthly salary. Now, if we are to say that you are a struggling stripper suffering from drug addiction and I try to caution you into putting much better values in your life, and your response was the statement above, I tell you that not only have you severed the links to your success but you have cut off everyone's blessings too.

You could say that the “others” could find other people whose destiny are tied with theirs. But what if those other people have severed their links with their success. We will have a full generation and future generations being aimless, useless and stupid.

As for the elders, your age and white hair symbolizes a fact that you have lived in this earth much longer than anyone and that you have much wisdom to give that the society can learn from. It is your job to guide the younger ones. But if you have become a tout, a nuisance and a failure in life, then what more do we call exuberant youths who don't think about the future. Who will be left to guide us if you, the elder, can't?

Parents, do not copy what you see on social media or in the foreign countries. We have seen how low they have fallen when it comes to giving respect to those older than them. Your discipline and training is the only thing that keeps your children from going astray. There is no good way or process of parenting. But all I can say is that as long as the child is trained in the ways of the Lord and in the ways of how God would want a good child and future contributor to the society to be, then you have done a good job. Your children use you as a blueprint that guides and helps them to raise their own. Other parents, especially first timers and those seeking to start a family, also observe and look up to you.

Youths, stay away from fraudulent activities. It seems enticing now due to desperation and the fact that there are no employment waiting for you. But it only brings enjoyment once and a hundred troubles later. No one truly wants to associate themselves with a fraudster, an OnlyFans celebrity or an illegal adventurer. They might be with you now but it is not a guarantee that they will be with you later when all things burns down and fall into the pit. Your younger siblings, cousins and even your friends look up to you and surely, you wouldn't want them to venture into your activities.

Truly, it is your life and you are the only one who is living it. That is for sure, without questions. But remember that your life is intertwined with others and that whatever you do affects you and others.
