THEODORE'S POV
"Very well then, let’s get going,” Conner expressed with a broad smile.
“Not so fast Conner,” I stopped him before turning to Summer who looked lost, “I have a promise to fulfill,” I winked at her and she smiled. Conner cleared his throat immediately.
“Let me guess,” he suggested and I shifted my gaze to him, “You promised to pay her father’s medical bills?” he guessed and Summer and I exchanged glances.
“How did you know-” I began to ask him but he interrupted me
“I have eyes and I can see, but you don’t have to worry about that, I’ll handle everything here,” Conner assured me
“Are you okay with that?” I asked summer
“I can trust you right?”
“Totally,”
“I guess I should say goodbye then,” her voice cracked a little
“Take your time,” I smiled at her and she nodded with a smile before running off to her father. I heaved a sigh of relief as I watched Conner make arrangements for her father to be taken to the hospital and for additional guards to escort me to the plane.
How did my life suddenly become so important? I wondered. As at last night, I was running away from a bunch of criminals who wanted me dead. Well, that was quite eventful and it marked the beginning of me having a different life.
But then, months ago… weeks ago and even a few days ago, I was just Theo, plain Theo. No friends, could barely afford three square meals a day, almost homeless and jobless. And then boom! Out of the blues, I became a billionaire
