We used to be close
Like two lost puppies
Following each other for guidance
We used to be fun
Like two hungry mice
Running around for food
We used to share
Like a mother bird
Feeding her chicks
We used to protect
Like a mother hen
Fighting for her chicks
Now we’ve grown apart
Like the wide line between a lion and a hyena
How distance has taken over what we used to share
Leaving a gap so wide, it can never be bridged
For me distance isn’t when I’m not near
But when I stand right in front of you
And it’s like you’re blind, I fear…..
