Obidients Outside ADC Are ‘DisObidients’, Kenneth Okonkwo - 1 month ago

Veteran actor-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has challenged supporters of former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, popularly known as Obidients, to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that those who have not done so are no longer true followers. Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Okonkwo described encouraging Obidients to spread across multiple parties as a past tactical error and said Obi’s recent advice for supporters to register with the ADC should be followed — otherwise they are “disObidients.”

Okonkwo’s comments come amid a broader political realignment following Obi’s high-profile move toward the ADC platform ahead of the 2027 general elections, where he and other leaders are positioning the party as a unified opposition front. Although some factions within the ADC have questioned procedural issues around recent membership moves, Okonkwo insisted the party remains the vehicle of choice for opposition forces and urged party unity as Nigerians prepare for the next electoral contest.
