Nigerian music star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has mocked the All Progressives Congress over its chances in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, despite a high-powered delegation of party heavyweights arriving in Osogbo for a mega rally.

The ruling party’s top brass, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, converged on the Osun State capital alongside more than ten governors in a show of force aimed at boosting support ahead of the crucial poll.

Among the governors in attendance were Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, and Uba Sani of Kaduna State, underscoring the strategic importance the APC is placing on the contest. Their presence formed part of a broader mobilisation effort as the party seeks to reclaim the state.

Former Osun governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who is central to the APC’s push in the state, publicly celebrated the arrival of the delegation. He shared images and updates on his official social media page, framing the influx of party leaders as a sign of momentum.

Davido, however, was unimpressed. The award-winning artist, whose uncle Ademola Adeleke is the incumbent governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, reposted Oyetola’s update with a scathing caption that quickly went viral.

“If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma lule for the 3rd time,” he wrote, mixing English and Yoruba to predict another defeat for the APC. The phrase “o ma lule” loosely translates to “you will still fall,” a taunt suggesting that no level of political reinforcement can overturn the party’s losing streak in the state.

Davido’s intervention highlights once again how deeply he is invested in Osun politics, moving beyond entertainment into open partisanship. His comments also reflect the charged atmosphere surrounding the election, where symbolism, star power, and social media narratives are being deployed alongside traditional campaign machinery.

As APC leaders rally their base on the ground, Davido’s message signals confidence within the Adeleke camp and reinforces the perception that the battle for Osun will be fought as fiercely online as it is at the campaign podiums.
