Keeps pushing you down
Darkens your future using your present
Gives you a moment of good living and joy
Just to see you build hope
And relishes your devastation when it puts you down all over again
Life has become the enemy we can't put away
The foe we can't hide from
I want to run as far I can from it
But it's everywhere, in everything and every form
It is now a matter of facing it squarely
Pushing and pulling
Till a winner finally emerges
And even if I do not win
I will bask in the satisfaction of a good fight
