Dream To Be - 1 year ago

I opened my eyes, remembering the remnants of a real dream. I was on top of the world. I owned a booming cosmetic line, my name on the lips of every beauty enthusiast. I had my own TV show, hosting with a natural ease, my face beaming into living rooms across the nation. I was a successful entrepreneur with lands and properties to my name, traveling the globe, a great writer of many great books, and a mover. It was a life that seemed too perfect to be true, a life that could only be found in the realm of fantasy.

The dream faded, leaving only the stark truth. I opened my eyes and found myself in my room in my parents house. My mom's loud voice calling my name was all I could hear. I was still a student, studying Mass Communication, trying to cope with my financial difficulties. I had just finished a Virtual Assistant training, still searching for a remote job. There were no luxurious properties, no fame, and no success waiting for me. It was just me, with my hopes and dreams, and the harsh truth that the world wasn’t as easy as it seemed in my sleep.

I sat up, staring blankly, trying to remember my reality. It felt so real. In an instant, I wanted to be the person I had been in that dream — confident, powerful, and successful. The gap between the woman I dreamed of being and the one I was in reality felt vast. I wondered, how could I possibly bridge this gap?

Then, I thought, Why not? Why couldn’t I take the first step toward turning that dream into reality? The journey from where I was to where I wanted to be wasn’t going to be quick but it was possible.

I had the resources within me — determination, a strong work ethic, with grit and a growth mindset. Grit would help me be persistent through the challenges  that would come. Hard work would be the backbone of my success, the steady climb toward every dream I had. And most importantly, I had a growth mindset, the understanding that every challenge was an opportunity to learn and grow.

I got up, feeling optimistic. The journey ahead wouldn’t be easy, but nothing worth having ever was. I had already taken the first step — I was studying Mass Communication, which would lead me to a career in media, perhaps even that dream of becoming a TV presenter. The virtual assistant training, while it hadn't yet led to a job, was a skill set I could use, a way to learn more about business and digital marketing. And the dream of owning my own cosmetic line, why not start small? I could begin by learning from successful presenters, entrepreneurs, and developing a plan..

I grabbed my notebook and started to write. I could make it my reality, bit by bit.

As I wrote down my goals, I realized that the dream wasn’t about instant success. It was about becoming the person who could achieve those dreams. I just need to focus on growth. I would grow into the woman I saw in my dream. Slowly, surely, through hard work and the willingness to learn.

And when I reached those dreams, I would remember the journey — how it started with a simple dream, a sense of determination, and the courage to keep going when things seemed impossible. Also, a promise to myself to stay humble while helping others achieve their dreams when the time comes.

After closing my notebook , I smiled, knowing that this dream wasn't far off. It was just waiting for me to chase it, one step at a time.
