When a stone cutter hammers away at a rock, it seems there's no progress. The rock is just there unyielding, unbothered. This goes on till the 99th hit. Still no progress. Then on the 100th, something happens. The rock splits like a miracle had just occurred.
Well, that is no miracle. That is the result of continuous singular effort, each of which seemed unproductive. Each hit at the rock, though unyielding, leaves a certain effect on it. The continuity spreads the effect without the cutter knowing or seeing any change.
By the 99th hit, the effect has now gained control of the rock. With another hit, just like the previous ones or even weaker, the rock surrenders.
This is applicable to that point you are in right now especially the goal where there seems to be no progress. Countless trials, yet nothing to show for them.
You are not the problem neither are your processes, if well done. You've not just reached the climax. The effect is still being spread and not yet in control. Your consistency determines your progress even when you don't see it. When the processes are right, with due dedication and consistency, the goal will be achieved. Not just consistency but learning and improving on the goal make you move faster. Instead of focusing on the goal, focus on the processes, stay committed and be consistent. Don't just be consistent, be consistent in the right way.
