Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Oman, vowing to “bomb the st” out of the Gulf nation if it interferes in his ongoing war against Iran.

In an interview with Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst, Trump claimed that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had quietly opened a back channel to his administration in an effort to keep peace talks alive. He portrayed Tehran as weakened and desperate, insisting that time was on Washington’s side.

“They’re good poker players, but they’re dying. I have no time schedule. I’m not in a hurry,” Trump said, framing the conflict as a high-stakes standoff in which he holds the stronger hand.

Oman, a small but strategically crucial monarchy on the southeastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula, has long served as a discreet mediator in regional disputes, including previous US–Iran negotiations. Its role in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil shipments, has drawn Trump’s ire.

Asked about Muscat’s involvement, Trump delivered his blunt threat: “If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb the s* out of them.” The remark appeared to undercut Oman’s traditional position as a neutral broker and raised fresh concerns about the widening scope of the conflict.

The warning comes as a 60-day ceasefire between the United States and Iran expires and tensions again escalate. Iranian military officials have announced cash bounties for those who kill or kidnap US soldiers in the region, offering higher rewards if the attacker is a woman. The offer is largely symbolic, as there are no American ground forces deployed inside Iran, only ongoing US air strikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure and allied militias.

Now in its fifth month, the war shows few signs of winding down. Diplomatic channels are fraying, and both sides appear to be hardening their positions. Inside the Pentagon, frustration is mounting. A senior US command recently circulated an internal email to top military analysts, asking for “new, creative, and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran,” a move that underscores Washington’s struggle to find a path to either victory or a negotiated settlement.
