A Serbian athlete, Lazar Dukic, died Thursday morning during a CrossFit swimming competition in Texas. Dukic, 28, failed to resurface during a swimming event at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, according to local reports. 

CrossFit expressed deep sorrow over Dukic's passing, stating on social media, "We are devastated by the passing of Lazar Dukic. Our hearts are with his family, friends, and fellow athletes." The organization is cooperating with authorities and supporting Dukic's family during this difficult time.

Dukic was ranked third in Serbia and 88th worldwide, having recently won first place in the European CrossFit semi-final. CrossFit announced that all events for the day have been suspended, though it has not confirmed whether the competition will resume as planned through Sunday.
