Unilag Accomodation Issue - 2 months ago

As a freshman in unilag, I have to say that the excitement of finally being in the ‘ school of first choice ’ is waning off at a very alarming pace. And the major reason for this is the non availability of enough bedspace for students in the school hostel.

Commuting everyday from home is a very strenuous task — one that leave us extremely tired before lectures even start.

For most of us, renting an apartment outside school or even getting one of the private hostel outside school is not feasible because of the ridiculous price they're charging for it.

Seeking education is one thing and having the money to actually pursue it, is another.

The transport fare to commute to school everyday keeps adding on to the stress not to talk less of the experience in public transport or the struggle to actually get bus at 6:30 in the morning.

And yet, classes are still fixed by 8 am and we're expected to be there.

I'm not whining, neither am I throwing a tantrum…this is what most students go through daily. I really wish the school or the government would find something to do about it.
