So, we had this brilliant idea for a short film we titled Freefall. A real cinematic masterpiece, we thought. We dove headfirst into pre-production, fueled by passion and maybe a little too much awara and eggroll. Location scouting? One of us donated their apartment – perfect for when we climax. Casting calls? We discovered a hidden gem of an actor in our very own department - Alex.
Then came the first day of shooting. Picture this: our lead actor forgets her costume, the actor who played the lecturer was only made aware of his casting on the day of shooting - talk about preparedness. We looked at each other, we realized, but we could not say it out loud...we were hilariously, epically unprepared.
But here's the thing about filmmakers – we're a stubborn bunch. We took a step back, rewrote the script to be even more amazing, and found locations that wouldn't spontaneously turn into wildlife documentaries. We even managed to raise some extra cash for better equpments that actually works (turns out, modern technology is pretty awesome).
And guess what? We're back on track! Reshoots are happening next Tuesday, and this time, we're ready. This whole experience has been a wild ride, but it's also been the best kind of learning curve. We're not just making a film; we're making memories (and maybe a few blooper reels that will go viral someday). Stay tuned for the final cut – it's gonna be legendary!
