Bankole Oluwafemi, widely known as "Banky", is the founder of TechCabal and a seminal figure in African tech media. A software engineer by training, he identified a critical gap in dedicated, quality reporting on Africa's burgeoning tech scene and launched TechCabal in 2014 as a simple newsletter.

His vision transformed it into a leading media platform. As the founding editor, he established the publication's tone—insightful, bold, and deeply connected to the community. Although he has stepped back from day-to-day editorial operations, his foundational work set the standard for tech journalism in the region.

Oluwafemi is also a co-founder of Big Cabal Media, the parent company that now houses TechCabal and Zikoko, a popular youth culture brand. His work has been pivotal in building media infrastructure that documents and catalyzes Africa's digital revolution.
