Part Two
It wasn't always like this. There was a time when Lara's heart danced at the thought of adventure – when Max's smile made her world spin.
They had met in college, bonding over books and dreams.
He wanted to open a bakery in Paris, she wanted to conquer the business world (what a life).
But then, Lara's parents stepped in. "Lara, business is safe," they would say. "Bakeries are for fun, not for future."
Slowly, Lara started listening more to them, and less to her heart.
She chose big meetings over baking, suits over sketchbooks,Tables and Desk over pans or ovens.
Max tried to wait, but Lara kept pushing him away. "I'll do it someday," she'd say... but someday never came.
The choice was tough, but Lara picked her career. Max wanted it all – the bakery, the life in Paris and she wasn't ready to give up her ambitions. So he left, chasing his dreams alone.
Memories flooded back – playing with dough in Mama's kitchen as a kid, the smell of baking bread filling the air. Sundays were for baking with Papa, making treats for neighbors. Lara loved watching people taste her creations, loved the joy it brought. When did it stop being enough?
Now, in her big office, Lara wondered: did she make a mistake? 🤔 The view from the top was nice, but where was the adventure? Where was Max?
Lara's eyes wandered to the city below, and she sighed.
This wasn't how she wanted her story to go,she didn't want to be stuck in meetings and deadlines; she wanted adventure.
She wanted to serve people with a warm smile, watch them bite into a fresh croissant, and see their faces light up.
She wanted to spread love, one recipe at a time.
Just then, her assistant knocked. "Lara, your next meeting is in 5 minutes. Oh, and your mum called again." Lara's chest tightened.
