Former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has publicly refuted circulating reports that he held a secret political meeting with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso at his Abuja residence, saying the claims are unfounded and misleading. In a statement released through his media office, Fayemi said he met Kwankwaso once in the past year at a public book launch and that there has been no private or partisan gathering between them as suggested by social media posts. He urged the public to disregard the narrative and stressed that the video clip being shared was taken out of context.
Fayemi also clarified that his relationship with the former Kano State governor is personal and rooted in mutual respect, not political alignment, and warned against assigning partisan motives to private friendships. The statement highlighted that Fayemi’s network spans various political backgrounds and reiterated his commitment to responsible public discourse and national unity.
