A load that's grown familiar, through all the passing years

But still I hold on tight, to this weight I bear
Afraid to let go, of the pain I've shared
For in its familiarity, I find a strange sort of peace
A comfort in the discomfort, a solace in the release

Yet deep down, I know, I must find a way
To lay this burden down, come what may
To release the weight, that's held me captive for so long
And find the strength to move on, to a brand new song.
