It became a tradition in the Bassey's family, that the female children are never going to be successful.

  But In Mr Effiong's home things turned around . Mr Effiong's wife gave birth to 2 boys and 4 girls, which he was never happy about and always blaming his wife for bringing bad luck into his lineage.

 Mr Effiong had never treated his girls right, because he believes they won't have anything to offer even in the nearest future. He made the boys forward their education while the girls didn't.

Effiong's wife Aliya, had to save up some money from her pepper business for her girls to learn different skill. There is a hairstylist, a fashion designer and also one who learnt catering. Hopefully they all paid attention and became very serious.

Years later Daddy Effiong's boys graduated and got  good jobs but never remembered home. His girls got to open their shops and were all doing very well, they became the talk of the town because of their commitment, cooperation and consistency.

A time came daddy Effiong became very ill, only his girls assisted in the medical bills and in taking care of him, his mighty boys never called home to ask about his health.

He became better and was discharged, he felt embarrassed and began thinking of how bad he had treated his girls but they still came through for him. When they got home he had to ask his girl child for forgiveness.

Mr Effiong became proud of what he never invested on.
