My Role in Combating Desertification and Drought

Introduction

Desertification and drought are serious environmental problems affecting many parts of the world, especially in Africa. Desertification is the process by which fertile land becomes dry and less productive due to factors such as deforestation, overgrazing, and climate change. Drought is a prolonged period of little or no rainfall, leading to water shortages and poor agricultural productivity. As a responsible citizen, I have an important role to play in combating these challenges and protecting the environment.

My Activities from April 2026 to July 2026

1. Tree Planting Campaign During this period, I participated in tree planting activities within my community and school. Trees help prevent soil erosion, improve rainfall patterns, and reduce the effects of desertification.
