The word of God and the spirit bring balance.  Take one out and there's an imbalance. Jesus ministry while on earth pointed to the spirit, and the ministry of the holy spirit points to Jesus.

The word is Jesus (John1:1). 

Being filled with the holy spirit and lacking in knowledge of the word, brings a lopsided Christian. That's why the holy spirit brings the hunger for the word.  

The holy spirit is regarded as living water one of his manifestation is water. “Water is life”, the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman, the word tells the woman he will give her life giving spirit. (John 4:10). 

Psalms 1:2-3. David, talks about the man who delights in the law of the Lord or word of the Lord and how he shall be like a tree planted by the waters.  And shall never wither, why because you are refressed by water the spirit as you read the word. 

Many people say the word is dry or boring. Most times the reason is because you haven't invited the spirit to refresh you while you read. 

The word is also likened to bread. Imagine eating bread just like that without anything to move it down. Bread is always sweeter with I don't know coffee, tea, soda. 

That's how reading the bible should be. Invite the holy spirit as you consume bread. 

And watch as he opens the word to you and experience great spiritual growth in Christ. 

Finally while you do it cut of distractions, take a book and pen show yourself as serious and hungry. God cannot deny a man who is genuinely hungry . 

Prayer:  Father please fill whoever is reading this with your spirit and lead them to the place of reading your word constantly. Trusting you to open it up and. Understand in Jesus name Amen.
