Bayern Munich's dominant 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen saw Harry Kane etch his name into the Bundesliga record books as the top-scoring English player in the league's history.

Kane's 41st Bundesliga goal, expertly slotted past Werder goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, surpassed Jadon Sancho's tally of 40 goals for Borussia Dortmund.

The England captain's milestone strike was part of a ruthless display from Bayern, who maintained their perfect start to the season with four wins from four matches.

Michael Olise sparked the rout in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on Kane's clever lay-off to score his first of the afternoon. The French winger then provided two assists, showcasing his skill with a dazzling run past four Werder defenders to set up Jamal Musiala's tap-in.

Olise added his second goal on the hour mark, before Serge Gnabry sealed the victory with a sublime curling finish in the 65th minute.

Vincent Kompany's side continues to set the pace in the Bundesliga, with Kane's historic goal highlighting his pivotal role in Bayern's title charge.
