Why must you cage me?
Like a fish caught
In a fisherman's net.

Why must you restrict me?
Like a bird in a bird's cage
Restricted from flying free.
Fear, O Fear!
Why must you devour me?
Like a shark or a Lion
That eats up it's prey without mercy.
I beg of you, O Fear!
To please let me go.
I do not want to be like
A prisoner, guilty of no offence.
I plead with you, O Fear!
To please break the chains
That you have used on me
To chain my soul to you.
