THE UNCOMFORTABLE BEAUTY OF CHANGE - 3 hours ago

There is a saying that, "When you get to Rome, act like the Romans." But nobody really talks about how difficult it is to start acting like the Romans.
Nobody talks about leaving behind what is familiar and stepping into something completely new. The culture shock. The fear of fitting in. The change of environment. The new ideas and perspectives. The realization that you have to learn, unlearn, and sometimes accept certain things without being judgmental.
To be honest, it isn't easy. I believe almost everyone has been in that situation at one point or another.
There is something challenging about moving from what is normal to a "new normal." You suddenly find yourself living in a way you are not used to. You have to adjust, and most times, you have to do it quickly. You learn new routines, new expectations, and new ways of seeing the world.
What is even more surprising is that you may not notice how much you have changed until you come across a reminder of your former self. Something that once made perfect sense to you suddenly doesn't anymore. Then it hits you—you have changed.
Sometimes the change happens quickly. Sometimes it happens slowly. Sometimes it is obvious. Other times, it is so subtle that you hardly notice it until much later.
I won't lie—it can be hard. Change can be uncomfortable, demanding, confusing, exciting, and even exhausting all at the same time. Some days, you'll embrace it. Other days, you'll wish things could go back to the way they were.
But while you're trying to become accustomed to your new reality, don't be too hard on yourself.
Yes, change is constant, but that doesn't mean change is easy.
Give yourself permission to learn. Give yourself room to make mistakes. Give yourself grace when things don't come naturally. You don't have to become a Roman overnight.
And while you're learning to adapt, don't lose the parts of yourself that make you who you are. Growth isn't about becoming someone else entirely; it's about becoming a better version of yourself.
Take your time. Breathe. Learn. Adjust.
One day, you'll look back and realize that what once felt strange has become familiar, and what once felt impossible has become a part of you.
That's the beauty of change.
