Hey gist lovers.🤗👋 I know this gist is coming in late, but better late than never.🤭 Here's my take on the once trending movie in Nollywood industry “Love in every word."
First, a little background check on the movie. Love in Every Word is a 2025 Nigerian romantic drama that has captivated audiences and set new benchmarks for Nollywood's digital success. Produced and directed by Omoni Oboli, with a screenplay by Mfon-Abasi Micheal Inyang, the film premiered on YouTube on March 7, 2025, and quickly became a viral sensation. Upon its release, Love in Every Word achieved remarkable viewership milestones:
Over 2 million views within the first 24 hours.
Surpassed 4.3 million views in 72 hours.
Reached 11 million views in seven days.
Exceeded 20 million views within three weeks.
Ok, for those that have't watched the movie. The movie is about Chioma(the protagonist), played by BamBam. After ending a toxic relationship and dealing with a demanding work environment, Chioma travels to Anambra for a family event, where she meets Obiora, played by Uzor Arukwe, a wealthy and patient Igbo businessman. Their budding relationship faces challenges rooted in Chioma's past traumas and cultural differences, but through open communication and emotional resilience, they navigate these obstacles to find love.
I have seen blogs and trends on this particular movie and omg, I have to say, the movie was overhyped. Don't get me wrong, it was a really good movie but with the way it was trending, I expected more especially towards the end of the movie. Though I should have known, the movie wasn't trending because of its quality and morals. It was trending because people focused more on the “doings of odogwu.”
In a bid to win Chioma's love or rather show Chioma that he really loves her, Obiora also known in the movie as Odogwu, goes out of his way to spend excessively on her. This brought about the option and motion that men must spend on ladies in order to show their love, forgetting the role Chioma also played in making the relationship work. At first, Chioma never wanted to receive gifts from Obiora but because she already had feelings for him, she accepted it.
Another thing the movie showed is the impact of parents in the life of individuals. Chioma, even though she loved Obiora, didn't want to be in a relationship with him because of his accents which showed that he was an Igbo man, a proud one at that😂
All in all, the movie was a beautiful one just excessive. The way of showing love, such as buying her company's compound, was just wow😂
