Yesterday marked our matriculation day, and to be honest, I didn’t even plan to attend seriously. My intention was simply to show up, take a picture, and leave. I eventually arrived about two hours after the matriculation ceremony had begun.
What truly surprised me, however, was the level of preparation and enthusiasm among the students. Many came fully dressed, as though attending a major occasion, and several were accompanied by their families who came along to celebrate with them. To me, matriculation had always felt like a simple “welcome to school” ceremony, but to others, it meant so much more.
For many students, it represented the beginning of something new, a fresh journey and a significant milestone in their lives. In that moment, I understood the importance of perspective: what may seem unnecessary or ordinary to one person can be a major, meaningful event to another.
In all, congratulations to us all. This is only the beginning, and certainly not the end of our jubilation.
