Drone Strike In Russia’s Tver Kills One, Injures Two Authorities Say - 2 months ago

A Ukrainian drone strike on the Russian city of Tver has killed one person and wounded two others after debris from the unmanned aircraft struck an apartment block in the city center, regional officials reported on Tuesday. Acting Governor Vitaly Korolev said the fragment hit a ninth-floor apartment, igniting a fire that was later extinguished by emergency services, and prompting evacuations of nearby residents.

The incident occurred amid a broader wave of overnight drone attacks across more than 20 Russian regions, according to Russia’s Defence Ministry, which said its air defences shot down over 120 Ukrainian drones before they could reach their targets. Kyiv has not publicly commented on the Tver strike, while Moscow’s report comes as diplomats and envoys prepare for key talks in Paris aimed at advancing a peace plan in the nearly four-year conflict.
