About two months after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt requested to remove "Pitt" from her name, the 18-year-old has now progressed in California's name-changing procedure. Shiloh recently made it public in the Los Angeles Times that she applied to switch her name to just “Shiloh Jolie.”
In line with California regulations, before a judge can give the nod to a name change petition, the necessary paperwork needs to be printed in a newspaper for a month. Once published, the request will appear in the paper's legal notice section. Following the petition filed in May, a source close to Pitt mentioned that the father of six is "informed and bothered" by the alteration.
“He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name," said the source. "The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad."He’s still happy with Ines [de Ramon]," the source continued, but the distance from his children "pains him."As previously confirmed by someone familiar with the matter, Shiloh’s documents were filed on Monday, May 27, which also happened to be her 18th birthday.
Jolie, 48, and Pitt, 60, have six kids together: Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Shiloh, Pax (20), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16). Recent reports suggest that Pitt has minimal contact with his adult children and limited time with the younger ones due to his busy filming schedule. Despite this, he still has visitation rights with the younger kids as per their custody agreement.
