Charity had always been a dreamer, envisioning a life filled with love and family. When she met Anthony, it felt like fate. They shared everything, including a crucial detail about their health: both were carriers of the sickle cell trait (AS). Despite warnings and risks, their love flourished, and they decided to marry, believing in a future where love would conquer all.

Their first child, a boy named Daniel, was born amidst joy and hope. But their happiness was short-lived. Daniel inherited the sickle cell disease and, after a brief battle, passed away. The pain of losing him was unbearable, leaving Charity and Anthony in a void of grief and regret.

Years passed, and the couple's sorrow slowly morphed into resilience. They clung to their faith, praying for another chance. Their prayers were answered when Charity gave birth to a daughter, Purity. From the moment she arrived, Purity brought light into their lives. She was beautiful, vibrant, and filled with a zest for life that seemed to come from another world.

Purity grew up to be exceptionally intelligent and supportive, her presence a constant reminder of hope and redemption. She excelled in school, displaying a brilliance that amazed the teachers and peers. By the time she reached Junior secondary class 3, Purity had won a prestigious scholarship that promised to take her to any level of education she desired.

The day Purity received the scholarship letter, Charity was overwhelmed with a flood of emotions. She broke down in tears, a mixture of joy and deep-seated regret. Holding the letter, she cried out to God, lamenting her decision to marry David despite the risks. "Oh God, have mercy on me," she wept. "Please, keep my daughter alive. Don't let my mistakes harm her."

Purity, wise beyond her years, gently wrapped her arms around her mother. "Mom, don't cry," she whispered. "You've always taught me that love and faith can overcome anything. We are stronger because of what we've been through. Daniel is watching over us, and he would want us to be happy. I'm here, and I'm healthy. We'll face everything together, just like we always have."

Charity looked into her daughter's eyes, seeing not just the reflection of her hopes but also the strength and resilience of her spirit. In that moment, she realized that Purity was not just a blessing but a testament to the power of love and faith. Holding her daughter close, Charity felt renewed sense of  peace. She knew that, with Purity by her side, they could face any challenge the future held.
