I was asked to help with something by one of my superiors, and it felt kind of nice, so I wanted to do it quickly. But after responding, I realized it wasn’t what she had requested. I tried again, but I still made the same mistake. Then she told me, “never mind,” and I felt hurt and stupid.
Later, she sent me a message out of frustration, and that’s when I suddenly understood what she had been asking for. I sent everything immediately after I understood, but a few minutes later, I saw that what she had asked me to do had already been dropped in a group. After that, she checked my message and said, “thank you.”
I learned a few things from that experience in a very practical way: always understand before acting, because once you’re too late, you can easily be replaced. So stay smart, stay sharp, and always calm down.
