Education has lost its value and had become so worthless that even if you acquire all the education and knowledge that comes with it, one will never be respected for it and he/she can't even use it anywhere anymore.
Imagine education being reduced to nothing but income for universities to sustain themselves because the government refused to cater for them. Imagine the marks to even gain admission being reduced to the lowest marks in history. Why? Because the government might have realized two things:
One. Education had become so expensive and it's not funny that there are no jobs to accommodate graduating students who had hoped that with their degree, they would be able to provide their families and make an impact on the country, giving back to the society that placed very high expectations on them.
Two. Most of us have realized too early and quickly that education in the country gets them nowwhere. Imagine paying all that money for something that is then treated as another home decor. Most universities, I have noticed, don't allow people to study their dream course. Perhaps due to the fact that most departments could go extinct with the fewer students intake. (I'll get to this later). Also, most people have become dullards. Because it continued to an untreated phenomenon, the government, instead of finding a well thought and improved solution, decided to just reduce the marks, allowing dullards into educational and knowledgeable institutions. “The lecturers will educate them”. True. That is, only if, they even make it past the cutoff marks to be admitted into various departments. No faculty whose main focus is to save lives and improve wellbeing and faculty with the intent of justice will accept a dullard. So, there goes doctors, nurses, caregivers and lawyers.
Let us not also forget that the place where knowledge is being taught and transferred is being under attack everyday. And no one will want to risk their lives for it.
Perhaps one day, we will find a solution to this. Perhaps not all hope is lost for education. Or maybe it's just a false hope. Anyway, that's my two Kobo.
