Potential Grows When You Risk It - 1wk ago

Potential is something nice to have.

It’s like a blessing something you are born with, a capability of sorts.

The thing is, potential is only worth anything when it’s being used.

It’s just like the queen in a game of chess. Due to its power and moves, we tend to protect it and avoid putting it in any form of risk, and in the end, the queen stays in a fixed position for a long period of time.

While the other army dies during the battle, making use of their potentials, the queen becomes limited to only a few moves because we are too scared to bring it out to face war. So it doesn’t die, but in the process, it becomes quite useless.

This applies to us humans too.

We tend to neglect our potential because we are afraid, afraid of being imperfect, afraid it might not meet our expectations, afraid we won’t be acknowledged. But it’s okay, because even the faintest stars still shine.

And once you decide not to give up once you embrace your potential instead of abandoning it you begin to believe in yourself, grow stronger in using what you have, allow others to benefit from your gifts, and slowly build the confidence to realize that your potential was never meant to stay hidden, but to be lived, shared, and used fully in every possible way.
