Kwara University Expels 175 Students For Various Offenses - 1 year ago

The Kwara State University, Malete, has announced the expulsion of 175 students for various offences following the recommendations of its Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). The decision, as conveyed in a statement by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the Ag. Director of University Relations, was based on sittings held by the SDC between October 2021 and March 2024.

The statement highlighted that the expelled students were found guilty of a range of offences including examination malpractice, theft, using fake results for admission, assault, fraud, membership in unregistered associations, and possession of a firearm.

In emphasizing the institution’s commitment to maintaining discipline and fostering a conducive learning environment, the management of Kwara State University reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of misconduct. The university aims to uphold standards that produce graduates distinguished not only by academic excellence but also by exemplary character.

This action underscores the university's dedication to upholding academic integrity and ensuring a safe and ethical academic environment for its students and staff alike.
