I would never understand how someone who terrorized the whole community dies and the people hold a funeral for him in honor of someone else and you expect the preacher to say nice things about him. The preacher said nothing but the truth. No sugarcoating.

The Betrans caught my attention. Linda really failed in raising her 4 boys. Dallas married a good woman but the family still had his ear, it was as if they were jealous he got a good woman and they tried to frustrate the marriage. Dallas, having shot his father dead when he was kid for beating his mum, that incident messed his life up; he never really got free from the guilt. He felt no woman deserved him. Ava was too good for him to be true he thought.

Ava, the main character really surprised me. Beautiful, smart, successful career, the Reverend’s daughter and yet she submitted to her no-good husband who abused her in every degrading way possible. Dallas was her first love since High school; imagine the years she put up with the abuse. Till she was almost 40! She didn’t want to be like one of those women who gave up on their marriage, she wanted to be like her parents who had a beautiful marriage. Her parents couldn’t understand why. She was so abused, she didn’t recognize what true love felt like until she met Benji, who loved her as she deserved. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Sometimes letting go is better than holding on. Let go. You deserve peace of mind too.

There was a divorce. Halleluyah but Dallas still came back trying to cause trouble for her and her family. If I was Rev. Clarence too, I would grab my gun and head straight to the Bertrans to challenge those boys.

Dallas kept coming. This time, she got him good. She knew she would never be free if he was alive. Self defense.💯

Great movie, Tyler Perry once again wrote something for us to think about.
