Greece, with its rich history, stunning landscapes, and plethora of islands, has become a premier destination for luxury yacht charters, drawing enthusiasts from around the globe. According to Camper & Nicholsons, approximately a quarter of all global superyacht charters either start, end, or cruise in Greece, highlighting its popularity among charterers.

Julien Solari, Chief Commercial Officer Asia at Camper & Nicholsons, affirms, “Greece captivates with its iconic Cyclades islands like Mykonos and Santorini, and the historic marvels of Athens. It's a country that promises breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences for charterers.”
Interest in Greece is booming, especially from Asian clients who filled charters last summer and are already securing yachts for summer 2024.
To meet the rising demand and local enthusiasm for yachting, Camper & Nicholsons has opened a new office in Athens, led by Christos Chatzigiakoumis, Managing Director for Greece. He describes Greece’s coastline as a blend of ancient allure and modern luxury, offering everything from secluded beaches with crystal-clear waters to vibrant beach bars frequented by celebrities.

The new Athens office is situated on the former international airport site, set to transform into Europe’s largest urban park by 2025 – a testament to Athens' growing stature as a hub for luxury travelers and yachting enthusiasts alike.

The charter season spans from May to October, when southern gems like Santorini continue to dazzle visitors. Sylvia Katsamaki, Charter Manager at Camper & Nicholsons, emphasizes Greece’s unique charm, both geographically and culturally, making Athens a pivotal Mediterranean charter hub.

The Cyclades, a cluster of 220 islands forming a sun-kissed circle, are a highlight. From lively Mykonos to serene Amorgos and iconic Santorini, each offers its own slice of paradise.

In the Sporades, a recent discovery has added to Greece’s allure: the Peristera shipwreck, an ancient marvel submerged for 2,500 years. Now accessible for divers, it joins the list of must-see attractions in this archipelago where natural beauty meets historical intrigue.
Whether sailing the Aegean or exploring the Ionian Islands, Greece beckons with its rich tapestry of experiences. From the wind-swept adventures aboard the sailing yacht Eratosthenes to the luxurious comforts of motor yachts like Project X, every moment promises to be unforgettable.
