Hear Me, Save Me - 2 months ago

Have you heard of a whisperer?

They're strangers who infiltrate our homes, and sow discord among brothers.

They're out there as our friends. We call them that.

And that was what Simon called Professor Lee.

He was all excited when he introduced him to the family. His two younger brothers, His angel sister, and his mother.

They went on for awhile. Simon, a naive boy and his family were simply glad he made a friend. All except, Lisa.

The ten year old was uncomfortable around the middle-aged man. From their first meeting, she tried communicating her displeasure but none listened.

They excused her worries as jealousy. Simon wondered if she never wanted him to make friends.

Side by side, Lee was a humble and righteous man, and Lisa could pass for a spoilt brat.

Mrs. Stephens could not accept Lisa's rudeness. She made her apologize everytime until the girl grew distant to them all.

It was one thing seeing danger before you, and another, knowing your family is nursing it to life.  Lisa cried herself to sleep most times. Who would believe that the righteous one was slowly chipping away the girl's innocence with his fingers?

However, when the boys began to  see the veiled picture, their mother was far gone in her love for Lee. She took his side on everything. She would berate them to please him... until the day they met Lisa soaked in her own blood. Raped and left to die.

"Who could have done this?" The doctor bristled. Mrs. Stephens had the same question. It happened right in their home. Her mind wandered around the three boys since no one broke, but the war cry of the brothers would drive her back to reality.

“ What's wrong with you two?”

“Ask him mom! He should tell us what happened to Lisa.”

Mrs. Stephens was stupefied. “ Could it be Simon?”

“ I should have been wary with you association with her...you have some guts for a filthy animal my parents picked from the streets...”

Simon was dazed. He turned sharply...not to the boy, but the woman who couldn't believe her ears.

"What's he saying Mom?"

The woman turned to the younger two, " where did you hear that?

Who told you that?" She went nuclear on both.

The boys lips were sealed but they had given all she needed. No one knew of Simon's adoption besides her late husband. And then, few weeks ago, she had a chat with Lee.

And who else could gain entrance into her home without breaking in?

For the next one month, Mrs. Stephens' hired detectives and the police hunted him. It turned out he had a long record of pedophile. When he was caught, he pleaded guilty and was sent to jail. The bars felt more secure. Lee knew he had stirred a dormant dragon.

Five days later, Mrs. Stephens sent him a letter in red. “ I forgive you for everything... except one. You shouldn't have hurt my little girl.”

At noon that day, Lee was found dead in his room.

But it didn't change the fact…the deed was done and the Stephens family would never be the same.
