In this upcoming project, I’ll be working as both the Set Designer and the Sound Designer/Composer. These two roles are very creative and work hand in hand to build the world of the film one through visuals, and the other through sound and emotion. My job is to help the audience feel the story, not just see it, by designing sets that look real and by creating sounds that carry the right emotions.
As the Set Designer, my focus is to make sure the environment in every scene matches the story, the characters, and the mood. I’ll carefully study the script to understand the setting , the time, place, and the emotional tone. From there, I’ll design each set using the right colours, props, and textures that reflect the lives of the characters and the atmosphere of the story. I’ll also collaborate with the director and cinematographer so that my designs fit perfectly with lighting and camera framing.
As the Sound Designer/Composer, my duty is to create and select sounds that bring life to the film. That includes crafting sound effects that match each situation , calm, emotional, or chaotic and composing background music that connects with what the characters are feeling. My goal is to make the audience feel the emotions even without dialogue the tension, sadness, joy, or fear through sound.
Some challenges I might face include finding or creating the perfect sound to match a specific scene, managing time, or balancing both set design and sound creation at once. I plan to manage this by staying organized, preparing early, and working closely with the director and editor to ensure that every sound and visual element aligns with the story’s tone.
Overall, I plan to approach both roles with creativity, focus, and passion. I want my work to help the film feel complete, where the visuals and sounds blend beautifully to tell one powerful story that the audience will remember.
