CHAPTER 1
Pain, a lot of pain. The next kick sent her flying and she hits her back on an iron, then she curls her body and moans in pain. Slowly, she looks up at the face of her attacker. He was a man in his 30's and he was huge. She tries to clean the blood around her mouth, but got stopped half way when he picks her up by the collar. Cold breeze blew across her face and she could feel the little hairs on her body raising up. They were on the roof of a fifteen-storey building and it was night, a bright, terrifying and cold night. He drags her to the edge of the roof and makes her stand still. She looks at the height of the building and even though she was not scared of heights, she was terrified. Who wouldn't? She was about to be thrown off a fifteen-storey building just because she wanted justice to be served.
"This is what you get for being nosy", he said before he threw her off the building.
As she fell, the breeze blew even harsher and she closed her eyes not wanting to see how far she was falling. After a few seconds, her whole body hits the floor and as a whole new wave of pain passed through her, she opens her eyes one last time and a tear falls from them. Taking her last breath, her heart stops.
The man looked down from the storey building and saw as she laid on the floor lifeless with blood gushing out from her body. No one was around the building or any building around, so she was not going to be found anytime soon. Giving her one last look, he turns and walks away.
The tears fell from her eyes even as she was lifeless and done with living. With her eyes opened and mouth parted slightly, she laid on the floor with a pool of blood around her. She was dead and that man was going to get away with whatever he did, plus killing her. As the night was getting colder, so was her body.
With a loud gasp, she wakes up and sits up, then she takes a deep breathe. She stretches her hands and neck as she stands up. The blood from the floor had disappeared and so had the blood from around her mouth. Her clothes were as good as new. There was no trace of dirt on her body or anything on them. She was wearing a black leather jacket, a black shirt underneath matched with a black trouser and black platform boot. She looks at the floor where she laid formerly and smirks.
"He just made everything easier for me". Karma looks up at the storey building, then she tilts her head. Her braids fell as she did and she turns her head to the door of the building when it opens. Karma turns completely and pockets her hands as she sees who had come out from the door. The man stops in his tracks when he sees her. She smirks and removes her hands from her pocket as she walks towards him, slowly.
He takes a step back and looks at the floor, then back at her. He was confused. He had seen her on the floor lifeless a moment ago and now she was walking to him? Karma nods.
"Exactly", she answers as if she heard his thoughts. He swallows. "I saw you lying lifeless on the floor a while ago", his voice shook as he spoke. "then how is it possible that you are standing right in front of me".
Karma says nothing and just continues walking towards him, taking small and strong steps. Trying to act smart, he opens the door and stops suddenly when he sees where he was. She smiles as she walks in and closes the door. They had somehow appeared back at the roof from the front of the building. Karma walks to his front and takes in a deep breath.
"It's amazing, isn't it?" she turns to him, "But I won't explain it to you", she shakes her head, "I don't want to, so I'll tell you just one thing". Karma takes her head down, raises it up, then she glares at him. "You're going to pay for throwing me off this building". She spoke calmly, but with anger in her words. The man rushes to her to throw her off again, but she shifts and he found himself falling instead. She looks down and sees him lying in her former position, lifeless and in a pool of blood. She shakes her head and tuts.
"It's impossible for you to die so easily", she says and snaps her fingers, then immediately, the man was back behind her. He looks at himself in confusion. He clearly remembered falling, but he was now back here and standing completely fine.
"Not for long". Again, she answered as if she heard his thoughts. He kept quiet. He was still shocked about what just happened to even say a word.
"Today, I was just supposed to come punish you for raping and traumatizing those girls. I was not to kill you". His eyes widened as she spoke. How did she find out about that? Karma continued, "Sadly enough, you beat me up and even threw me off this building ending my life". He swallows and plucks up courage to speak, "But, you are still alive". She glares at him hard. "I would not have been if I were normal, right?" He swallows and Karma softens her glare.
"Anyways, you are still going to fall off this building, but you won't die. At least not immediately". He tries to take a step back but couldn't. He looks and his feet and tries to move them, but they were stuck.
"Stop trying, it won't work", she assures him, but he did not stop trying. Ignoring his desperate efforts, she continued talking. "You are going to be haunted by a lot of things; memories, dreams, illusions." She laughs evily and continues, "You will also feel the pain those girls felt when you touched them". He raises his head to look at her. "What?"
"That would go on for a week eventually, before you finally leave this world", Karma said and smiles at him. His body shook as he spoke, "Who are you? How dare you?" She ignores him and shifts to the side, then she waves him. "Bye, bye". Immediately she finished talking, his feet moved and he threw himself off the building. She walks to the edge and looks down. He was lying on the floor with a pool of blood around him, but as she said, he was not dead.
"My name is Karma, and Karma's a bitch". Glancing at him one last time, she turns and walks away.
