Customs Camp Attacked In Kebbi With At Least One Officer Reported Killed - 1 month ago

Armed men suspected to belong to the Lakurawa group attacked a Nigeria Customs Service outpost in Maje, Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State on the night of November 9, 2025, according to multiple local reports. Witnesses and local media say the assailants arrived in force, opened fire on the camp and set parts of the facility ablaze; at least one Customs officer was reported killed while others fled or were unaccounted for as security agencies moved to the area.

State and federal authorities have not yet released a full casualty list or an official account, but reporters on the ground say residents are on edge as security teams conduct follow-up operations and try to secure the border community. The attack is the latest in a string of violent incidents blamed on the Lakurawa faction in Kebbi and neighbouring states, raising fresh concerns about protection of security outposts in the border belt.
