One thing I have come to understand in this life is this: never say no to adventure.
I don't mean the risky kind that puts your life in danger. I mean the much-needed kind. The one you've been postponing for so long. The one you've been too scared to try because you're not sure if you can do it. The one you've convinced yourself is impossible.
To be honest, you really can do it.
One thing about us as humans is that when we truly believe we can do something, our minds begin to find ways to make it happen.
One promise I made to myself this year was that I would face my fears because that's the only way to defeat them.
Are you scared of heights? Try hiking.
Scared of the dark? Try camping.
Afraid of public spaces? Start small. Visit a coffee shop alone.
Fear speaking in public? Volunteer to present at work, school, or church.
Your fear might be the very thing standing between you and your next step, your next opportunity, or your big break.
Scared of deep water? Learn to swim.
Scared of being alone or going out alone? Try a solo coffee date, a solo movie date, or even a solo trip.
It might feel uncomfortable at first, but it teaches you something valuable: self-sufficiency.
You learn that you don't always need company to enjoy yourself.
You are the company.
And trust me, if fear is stopping you from experiencing something you've always wanted, face it. Gently. One step at a time.
It's time to go on that adventure.
That thing you've been debating in your head.
"Should I? Shouldn't I?"
JUST DO IT.
That movie date.
That solo trip.
Those swimming classes.
That cooking class.
Whatever it is.
Stop overthinking.
Just do it.
Go for it.
Take the leap.
One thing I've learned is this: "The memories you make from saying yes to adventure will outlive the comfort of staying home."
Go on that adventure today.
You might be surprised by what you discover.
And I promise, you'll be glad you did.
