Something happened a few days ago which baffles me if that kind of tradition still exists.
I have made a little income in school through some gigs but as per student I kept mute and I didn't tell my mom because I do tell her most of my stuff.
After I got home after the second semester break, I have looked everywhere for a job to get my hands busy but no one is ready to employ me because it's almost at the end of the year so most companies are closing sales already.
Fortunately, I registered for a government funded initiative to empower youth by training them with skills which I applied and I was selected. The government promised to pay a monthly stipend of 30k. I was expecting this money seriously because I have many things to sort out and thank God, they paid the money at the beginning of December but it was 22k instead of 30k.
From what I have learnt so far from financial experts, never reveal your true income which I followed ðŸ˜. I told my mom it was 17k I got after I have spent 15k already of the 22k to get some necessary things. Then suddenly, my mom said I can't even get everyone something out of the money as per my first income 😂. I was surprised because it does not even look like salary or any form of income.
She started talking about how the youth of nowadays love money because of the issue. I thought the old tradition of giving your parents your first salary does not exist anymore.
Let me know what you think
