African Sun
The African sun dazzles in the bright blue sky
Breathing life down to a lifeless rock, giving it life
Centers itself on the life of an African man
And brings him to life.
The African sun burns with the zeal of life
Shines and thrives in the storm
The bright guardian of the day
Punishes with a scorching slap at the back
Yet nurses with the mild rays of daybreak.
The African sun gets attitude when she ask for gratitude
Lamentations when she desire praise
Yet you flee to the shade in her wrath
For even in her wrath,
The African sun can't harm her own.
The African sun spanks and lead her child
Feed her child with the succulent breast of her love
Expanding the mind of the child
And let's the child play under the mild touch of your divine rays
I owe you, my African sun
Appreciate for your perseverance
Understanding for your sacrifice
Patience to walk with you in your days of old
Reparations for every drop of your lovely juice
And love for you are my love.
