Day 0040 of 1000 Days.
The Secret Source of My Father's Wealth.
Part Three.
On the day Mr Kunle revealed that he would be going back to Lagos to continue his business, my parents including me were terribly sad and wounded.
Mr Kunle was someone that did not need to do too much. The air of grace and likeability around him made everyone to like him. Even Jago had now loved him for his friendliness and generosity.
'I am not leaving yet. I still have two more weeks to spend here', Mr Kunle let out with a smile.
'I know. It is just that the countdown has begun already', I said sadly, my eyes filled with tears.
What Mr Kunle did not know was that his sudden presence in our family brought joy and happiness. Not that we were a sad family before but Mr his presence was like God's presence in our midst.
We now have abundance to eat and spare out. Maybe fate actually had it planned out that Mr Kunle would be our saviour. Thank God I saved him that night.
'Jago is hungry,' Mr Kunle spoke softly. I smiled knowing fully well the large of portion of food, massive chunk of meat and fresh bones Mr Kunle would buy for her.
Before, it was left over debris and waste foods that Jago had access to. Now, Jago was feasting on exquisite food as if she was a foreign dog now brought into a wealthy family.
It was true. It was true that a day would come that one's tears would be wiped away. This was our time and I prayed it last longer.
