“I owe Summer all the explanation about your safety not you.” He informed me and I didn’t like it.
“It is my life, I should know what is happening around me.” I demanded.
“Okay, how about you shutting your mouth in the meantime and allowing me to do my job?” Conner asked. He was keen on keeping me in the dark about what was happening. I opened my mouth to speak but I was interrupted.
“Theo,” the voice called.
“Don’t Theo me, Conner is being…” I paused when the voice replayed in my mind and I turned swiftly. She was awake and had even removed the oxygen bag from her face.
“That’s enough, don’t stress him too.” She pleaded supporting Conner.
“No, I can’t let you and Conner continue this game, look at you.” I walked to the side of the bed.
“I am fine Theo, but we need to keep you safe, you have to be alive at least for a year.” She said almost in a whisper.
“I don’t care about the money or the inheritance or the fame…” I was listing but she interrupted me.
“Theo…” she called taking my hand in hers.
“No, you listen to me, I am tired already…” I continued firmly.
“Theodore!” she raised her voice and I looked at her. “Please, put yourself together, you’re scaring your girlfriend,” she said reminding me that Angelina was still there, watching me closely. I bent my head for a while before looking her direction, indeed she was shaken and exhausted too.
