To the heart that feels unseen and unloved, this is your reminder that God loves you.
I had an appointment yesterday, and the route I was to take was one where motorcycles are the major means of transportation.
For a while now, I’ve developed a phobia for bikes, especially because of how many Hausa riders (popularly known as Aboki) operate these days. So I kept wondering how I was going to make the trip without putting myself at risk.
It was a journey that would last for about one and a half hours, and I didn’t want to be late either. I kept thinking to myself, “How am I going to do this?” Eventually, I decided that no matter how long it took, I would rather trek than endanger myself.
The weather was already cloudy and drizzling. Thankfully, I had my umbrella with me, so I kept going. As I trekked, different bike riders kept calling me, but I refused.
Then suddenly, I saw a bus — which is very rare on that route — beckoning me to enter. Amazingly, it was going exactly to where I was headed.
Eh!
A few minutes after I entered the bus, the rain began to pour heavily.
As if that was not enough, while sitting in the bus, I kept wondering how I would get down in such heavy rain and still meet up with my appointment without getting soaked. I already had my umbrella in hand, mentally preparing myself.
But the beautiful part was this:
The exact moment I got to my bus stop and stepped down from the bus, the rain stopped completely.
I paused for a moment in disbelief.
Like… what?
This can only be El-Roi — The God who sees me. 🥹
He’s such a Good Good Father — not only in the big moments, but also in the little moments that I treasure so deeply.
Dear one, you are loved by God.
And I pray that He opens your heart to see, recognize, and truly understand His love, even in the ordinary moments of your life.
While writing this, Chris Tomlin’s song, “Good Good Father,” came strongly to my heart.
Listen to it, and may you be wrapped in the warmth and assurance of God’s love. 🤍
