Wednesday 31st of July was supposed to be a completely happy day for me. I was going home after the session and I was more than happy to finally get a break from all the academic saga and feel the comfort of my home.

I left for the motor park very early coz it's a long ride home. Sitting down in the bus, I decided to scroll through my socials just to keep myself busy and that's when I came across a video on a group chat. On a normal day I would have just ignored it but seeing the name of my hometown on it, I decided to give it a watch. It turned out to be disheartening.

A news reporter was reporting on a kidnapping incidence and said the kidnappers has been caught. He revealed that the dynamics of these kidnappers after capturing their victims was to kill them and then start asking for ransom from their family. I immediately felt sick deep down. Just how heartless can these people be? But I was yet to get the shock of my life.

One of the criminals that was caught was leading the Anti-Kidnapping squad to the site where they dropped one of their victims which turned out to be a well in an abandoned construction site. Immediately the victims name was mentioned, cold shivers ran through me.

Some months ago, my younger sister came home and said one of her classmates was missing and they are searching for her. For a long time she was missing from school. I had even forgotten about the issue untill I went home on a short break only to hear that she hasn't been found. I was surprised. My heart went out to her parents. How will they be faring with her absence?
