My name is Okonkwo Paschaline Ifunaya,and I’m part  of the makeup department for the production of a short movie titled The Vanishing Jackpot.The film is produced by the 100 level Film and Multimedia studies of The University oof Abuja.As amenities member of the makeup team ,my role is important because makeup play a major role of bringing characters and stories to live on screen.

As a makeup personnel,I am responsible for transforming actors into their characters by creating looks that match the story’s mood ,setting and overall vibe.I work closely with the director and other designers to ensure that each character’s makeup reflects their personality ,age and journey throughout the film,I also ensure that make up looks remain consistent across different scenes and filming days.

Beyond appearance ,makeup helps boost the actors’ confidence and improving their performances.By maintaining their looks and making them feel comfortable, I contribute to the overall visual storytelling of the film.The role of the makeup artist helps bring the entire visual story together.

However ,working on a production set comes with several challenges.This include adjusting to changes in script , lighting or direction as well as maintaining consistency in makeup across different scenes and days. I Ensure that actors are comfortable with their makeup while collaborating with other departments such as costume and lighting to create a cohesive look. I also maintain and a clean and safe working environment ,especially when working with multiple actors.

To over this challenges ,proper planning is essential.I prepare looks in advance ,consider factors such as lighting and costumes ,and communicate effectively with the production team and actors to ensure a smooth workflow.I stay organized ,keep makeup stations tidy ,and ensure supplies are always stocked.Flexibility is key ,as I adapt quickly to unexpected changes on set.

Most importantly,I prioritize the comfort of the actors by using gentle products and communicating openly with them about their needs.Through team work ,preparation ,and adaptability ,I contribute effectively to the success of the production.
