We are often so obsessed with who we want to become that we forget to document who we are right now.

Time has a way of blurring the edges of our memory, we forget the small struggles we overcame. We forget the specific hopes that kept us up at night, we forget the version of ourselves that was just starting out, unsure but brave enough to try.

This is why writing a letter to your future self is such a powerful practice.

When you are chasing a dream whether it’s building a career, growing a creative voice, or just navigating life, it is easy to get ‘Ambitious Amnesia’. You hit a milestone and five minutes later, you are already looking at the next mountain to climb. You never stop to appreciate how far you have come.

Writing a letter to your future self changes that.

It creates a permanent record of your starting point, it captures your raw, unfiltered reality before success or time polishes the edges.

Your Digital Time Capsule

Blogshop is  a place to document your personal history.

Imagine writing a story today, right now about exactly where you are.

How you are feeling.

What you are afraid of.

What you hope to achieve in the next 365 days.

Now, imagine reading that story one year from today.

You will see the growth that isn’t visible in the mirror.

You will see that the things that terrified you today are the things you have already mastered tomorrow. You will realize that you are capable of more than you give yourself credit for.

Do It For You

You don’t need to do this for an audience. You don’t need to do it for likes.

Do it for the person you will be in a year. Give them the gift of perspective. Give them the proof that they lived, they struggled and they grew.

Take ten minutes today, open a new draft. Title it ‘To My Future Self’ and  just write.

One day, you will look back on this post and realize it was the most important story you ever told.

We are all rooting for you.
