You know that they say love is found in unusual places right?
One of the most embarrassing moments of my life was my first time on the metro bus. Unaware of where to tap my card, I proceeded to pass and the machine alarm started beeping, drawing everyone's attention. I was so nervous I almost threw up.
When I finally figured out where to tap, I was relieved, but my ordeal wasn't over. As I made my way to get a seat, the bus started moving, and I staggered like someone who'd had one too many bottles of Star.
Everyone must have thought I was clumsy. To make matters worse, the contents of my bag, including lots of scattered papers, fell to the floor. I was mortified.
After bowing for a while, trying to hide my red face, I looked up to see a fine young man staring at me. He looked so good; I even imagined he smelled nice too! We kept stealing glances at each other, exchanging casual smiles like teenagers in love.
I thought I'd 'caught someone, but little did I know...
When we got to the bus stop, I delayed getting off, hoping to have a conversation with my 'new crush.' He came over, said hi, but his look was beyond me – he'd been making eyes at his girlfriend all along!
I learned my lesson: never assume someone's interest, and always keep your papers organized.
