Maga Community Prays For The Safe Return Of Abducted Schoolgirls - 3wks ago

The Maga community in the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State is gearing up for an emotional prayer gathering, fervently seeking divine intervention for the safe return of schoolgirls kidnapped just days ago.

District Head Muhammad Sanid Dantani spoke to journalists, revealing the emotional chaos that has gripped the community since the attack, while security forces scramble to mount rescue operations.

“We have decided to gather for a special prayer for the safe return of our daughters. The whole community is traumatized, and we believe prayer is our strongest weapon at this moment,” declared Dantani, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

The shocking abduction occurred when armed bandits brazenly stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in the early hours of Monday, snatching away 25 students.

This incident is just the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of school kidnappings in northern Nigeria, a crisis that has tragically persisted since the notorious Chibok abductions in 2014. With previous attacks in Yauri and surrounding areas, residents of Kebbi State are understandably on edge as insecurity reigns supreme.

Scheduled for Friday, the special prayer session is set to attract a motley crew of clerics, traditional rulers, government officials, and anxious locals.

In addition to seeking the girls' return, Dantani has made it clear that the gathering will aim to bring divine peace to a region marred by relentless violence, despite ongoing military operations.
