Woman: I am indeed grateful to her.
Girl: (with deep concern) Oh! Where is she… Mama Rosa? I want to meet her.
(The woman breaks down, and is crying profusely)
Girl: Why are you crying? Did something happen to her?
Woman: [weeping more than ever] I can't! I… I can't do this anymore!
Girl: You can't do what? Mummy, you're making me cry. What is it? Please
Woman: It is me… I am the one!
Girl: You are who?
Woman: It was me all along!
Girl: That did what? Mummy, you're scaring me!
Woman: I am Mama Rosa! I met your mother living on the streets. She narrated her plight. She was about to conceive. But, your mother died while giving birth to you. She was hurt during the struggle with her Office Boss. She developed contractions and lost her life during childbirth… In my arms.
[Now, they're both crying]
[She continues]
She knew she wouldn't make it, so she asked me to take you as my own.
Girl: (In tears) But it shouldn't have been
Mama Rosa: What do you mean?
Girl: Why was life so cruel to my mom?
Mama Rosa: I don't… I'm sorry dear… But, your mother was a hero, you know.Despite all she passed through, she didn't let it break her. She had you while she was still a teenager. She went through a lot, yet put you at the centre of every decision. I tell you she was strong. She didn't want you to grow without a mother that'll care for you, so I agreed to taking you as mine.
[Tears roll down the girl's eyes. She's overwhelmed]
Mama Rosa: Let's go in and eat
Girl: I'm not hungry
Mama Rosa: I know, but you have to take your medication. And I won't forgive myself if anything happened to you. Please, come on dear, let's go.
